About Dexr

When we think of learning and training, too often it still means being handed outdated slides, watching videos, reading written procedures. We believe training is crucial for the wellbeing and safety of many people, especially in sectors where lives depend on being properly trained. Traditional learning methods are simply not up to the task.

We built Dexr to change that. Our platform lets any trainer create immersive, hands-on training scenarios in minutes, without technical skills or a large budget. Learners can practice in a safe, realistic environment via Virtual Reality, browser, or mobile, backed by research on effective learning and gamification.

Our ambition is to change how people learn. We want to become the leading platform for truly interactive and engaging training, where AI-assisted content creation and a global ecosystem of content creators make high-quality hands-on training accessible to every organisation, anywhere.

The mission for this role

As our Senior AI Engineer, you will play a central role in one of our most important product challenges: reducing TTQC, or Time to Quality Content, the time it takes to go from nothing to a high-quality, ready-to-use training scenario.
You’ll take ownership of two core pillars of our product:

1) AI‑driven scenario creation
You’ll push our AI models forward and integrate them deeply into the platform, enabling trainers to generate immersive, effective training scenarios in just minutes, built from Dexr’s existing building blocks.

2) Quality built into the creation flow
Speed shouldn’t compromise learning quality. You’ll embed our LEAP instructional‑design framework directly into the AI creation process, ensuring every scenario meets high learning‑effectiveness standards while still being fast to produce.

Your work will directly shape how trainers experience our platform and how learners engage with training content, making a real impact on learning and training.

Your key achievements in 6-12 months:

• LEAP Curation Model: A model that rates scenarios on our LEAP framework—both pre‑play (quality before use) and post‑play (measured learning effectiveness). Clear, actionable LEAP scores for every scenario.

• Quality Recommender: A recommender layer on top of the curation model: concrete feedback and next actions that help trainers improve their LEAP score, turning quality from guesswork into guidance.

• AI‑assisted Content Generation (v1): A first shipped version of AI‑driven scenario generation using Dexr’s existing building blocks, guided by trainer input, drastically reducing TTQC and unlocking quality content for non‑technical creators.

• From prototype to production: Own the path from model experiments to robust APIs integrated into our product, working closely with full‑stack, product, content, and customer success.

Our tool stack:

• ML/AI: NLP, recommender systems, generative models (LLM's), prompt orchestration.

• Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face

• Data: pipelines for structured/unstructured data, feature stores, vector DBs

• Product integration: model APIs powering a web‑first, no‑code platform with reusable events & actions, real‑time sync, and TTS—running across devices and updating instantly.

What you bring:

• Hands‑on ML/AI building and shipping (NLP, recommender systems, Gen AI).

• Strong with PyTorch/TensorFlow; comfortable with LLMs & prompt engineering.

• Data engineering: pipelines, curation of training datasets; vector DB experience is a plus.

• API/back‑end integration: model services that play nicely in production.

• An interest in learning design/pedagogy—or at least a willingness to learn it fast.

• Clear communication, iterative working style, and a startup mindset.
