Routine analyses are a common procedure that we all undergo but often take for granted. In fact, out of over 22 billion blood tests carried out annually in the United States and Europe, more than 660 million are affected by non-compliance errors. Each one comes with an average cost of €200 and, potentially, an incorrect diagnosis if not detected in time! 65% of these non-compliances are located at points of care (sampling points), where the highest rate of manual operations is concentrated. Based on the analysis of the collected data, it is estimated that the costs for non-compliance errors at points of care in Europe and the United States reach up to approximately $66 billion every year! And that's why we at Robosan have developed the first robotic platform to automate the preparation of biological samples right where most of these errors occur, at the points of care! Our device is the solution for diagnostic facilities to reduce costs and process times. In fact, we enable a reduction of up to 58% in the sample rejection rate due to non-compliance errors and save up to 80% on the processing time at the central laboratory's entry. Our platform implements real-time sample tracking and also supports laboratory workflows by categorizing the test tubes and automating the sanitization and packaging of the samples. In short, everything necessary to make the samples ready for dispatch to the central laboratory. And that's not all! Continuous data collection at the points of care allows the Robosan software to provide useful metrics to laboratories to optimize the entire hub-spoke model. Robosan refers to the Italian patent granted under application no. 102021000009296 and its international extension no. PCT/EP2021/071715, which claim both the process and the device.
