Embedded Android Engineer (Contract)

Location: Villeneuve-Loubet (Nice region, France) or Full-Remote

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Enablement

• Develop and integrate kernel drivers and BSP customizations
• Integrate and customize Android HAL
• Drive porting efforts from Kernel to U-Boot
• Perform U-Boot platform setup and driver customization

Long-Term Support

• Upgrade Android board versions (MediaTek SoC)
• Execute and resolve issues in CTS and VTS
• Upgrade Kernel LTS versions and apply minor releases
• Upgrade U-Boot, ARM Trusted Firmware, and OPTEE-OS

Yocto Project Work

• Port Yocto layers from NXP SoC to MediaTek SoC
• Upgrade Yocto from Hardknott → Kirkstone
• Add OTA support with rollback partitions

System Debugging

• Debug using adb, fastboot, sysfs tools, and userspace instrumentation

Required Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of post-graduation experience in embedded systems
• Engineering degree or Master's degree (Bachelor’s accepted with strong experience)
• Strong expertise in:
• Embedded Android / AOSP / HAL
• Linux Kernel development
• Bootloader, BSP, and bring-up
• Strong debugging skills across multiple layers
