The Role


This is not a narrow BDR role where you pass leads to someone else and never see what happens next. As a Full Cycle Sales Representative, you own the entire relationship through close: you open the door, you sell the vision, you run the trial that proves it, and you're the one who turns it into a signed, recurring contract.

Few sales roles give you this much end-to-end ownership, or this much face time with decision-makers at global companies, on the road, at conferences, and in the room. You'll work closely with our technical and leadership team, and you'll help shape the sales playbook as we scale internationally.

What You'll Do

Open doors

  • Go after large, international shipping companies through outreach via LinkedIn, email, conferences, and phone. You decide who's worth chasing and how
  • Travel abroad to meet prospects and clients face to face, and represent Toqua at international conferences (roughly every 1–2 months)
  • Help shape and refine the sales process itself as you go

Win them over

  • Bring Toqua's technology to life for decision-makers, make a sophisticated product simple and compelling
  • Guide prospects step by step towards starting a trial
  • Be the bridge between our technical team and the client, shaping and steering the deal from kickoff onward
  • Keep every deal structured and moving: clear milestones, sharp follow-ups, no loose ends
  • Ask the right questions early, so risks and blockers surface before they become problems

Make it stick

  • Own the trial end-to-end and make sure it actually delivers. This is where you become the client's trusted partner, not just their sales contact
  • Turn successful trials into recurring, paying clients
  • Keep a sharp, critical eye on progress against success criteria throughou

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Fluent in English
  • Business understanding combined with an energetic & outgoing personality
  • Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence, you read people well and build rapport easily
  • A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Open to learn the technical side of the product
  • Comfortable in taking ownership
  • Detail-oriented and structured, comfortable managing a multi-stakeholder relationship over time
  • Excited to travel internationally on a regular basis (roughly every 1–2 months)
  • Authorized to work in Belgium/EU

Valued

  • Prior experience in sales, project management, customer success, or account management
  • Knowledge of the shipping or maritime industry
  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth companies
  • Additional language skills, e.g. Dutch, Greek, Norwegian, German, Danish, …

What Success Looks Like

First 3 months

  • Ramp up on our product, market, and ideal customer profile
  • Start building your own pipeline through outbound outreach
  • Shadow and support trials to learn what makes them succeed

First 6 months

  • Run your own deals end-to-end, from first contact to trial kickoff
  • Guide at least one trial through to a successful outcome
  • Represent Toqua at your first international conferences or client visits

First 12 months

  • Convert trials into recurring clients and keep an active pipeline
  • Contribute meaningfully to our sales playbook and processes
  • Have traveled to clients and international conferences across multiple continents, building your own network in the shipping industry
